Welcome to the homepage of Kennel Vidocq and my Basset Fauve de Bretagne.
I’ve had this special breed for more than 20 years. I love them, because they’re easy to have in the house and to live with.
It’s a small, wheaten coloured, rough-haired dog. With a lively look in the eyes. The “Fauve” is a very fast dog.
The “Fauve” comes, - like it’s said in the name -, from Brittany in France. In France they’re only held and used as hunting dogs. Mainly for rabbits, hares and fox’es. But outside France, here in Denmark and Holland, we mostly have them as familydogs. In Norway and Sweden, they also hunt very much.
I show a lot with my dogs. Primary here in Denmark, but also over the most of Europe. I also visit the “Nationale d’Elevage” in France every year. To me, it’s the most important show. There, I can see the French dogs, each time more than 300.
My dogs has done well in France and over all Europe:
